Fireworks and barbeques are tried and true ways to celebrate America’s independence. But if you’re looking for some inspiration for this year’s festivities, here is how some of your fellow citizens will be spending July 4th weekend, all across the land of the free:
Those who happen to be in or around the big apple when the holiday weekend rolls around, definitely won’t regret checking out IndieFest 2016, otherwise known as the Indiependence Day Festival. The People’s Improv Theater will host hours of comedic fun and musical entertainment, served with a side of beer and, of course, barbeque!
Americans who’d rather celebrate outdoors can head on over to the Coney Island boardwalk and join the fourth annual Fourth of July Beach Party, where they can enjoy live music, alcohol, food and fireworks with their fellow country folk.
What’s better than a BBQ? How about a BBQ at an aquarium?! Aquarium of the Pacific welcomes families to munch on delicious treats, including brisket and s’mores bars, while exploring the magical world under-the-sea and watching an amazing waterfront fireworks show.
Or you can go all-out-American at the Rose Bowl, which will feature great food, a motorcycle stunt show and, you guessed it, spectacular fireworks. All the while, kids can enjoy games, activities and even inflatable rides.
Those who find themselves between the coasts may just be attending Freedom Over Texas, the city’s annual patriotic celebration, complete with live country music and sparks in the sky. This year’s main feature? Former Hootie and the Blowfish singer, Darius Rucker.
Another option includes a BBQ cook-off, water balloon fights and a car show, and that’s just the beginning. 4th Fest in Pasadena is sure to make this a July 4th for the books!
No matter where you are in this great, big country, there’s sure to be something exciting happening near you. So grab your party hat and join the fun! Happy Independence Day!
