It was encouraging to hear from all of these successful women who came from different backgrounds. Although they each pursued a different part of the beauty and fashion industry, they all had one common trait: determination. They each had a dream and were determined to make it happen. Each of them had some failures, each of them faced rejection, and each of them continued to work hard despite the negativity. I was especially inspired when I discovered that Sara Wolf and Daniella Teutsch, the founders of HydroChic, had absolutely no previous experience in the fashion industry when they came up with this amazing swim solution. They had an important issue that they wanted to solve, and they were determined to make that solution happen! That determination along with hard work enabled them to turn their dream into a reality.
The Women Entrepreneur Week event was so important because it gave young women like me, who are just starting out in the beauty and fashion industry, the courage to pursue our dreams. These women were once just like us, struggling to advance their careers as well as trying to make a difference in the world. As Sara quoted so eloquently, “Rome wasn’t built in a day!” Indeed it takes a lot of hard work and determination, however, it also takes messing up and rejection and just plain work experience to mold yourself into the successful entrepreneur you wish to become.
Thank you, Hydrochic, for being a part of such a wonderful and inspiring program! And thank you, Sara and Daniella, for all of your hard work and determination over the years!
