Summer may be winding down, but don’t pack up those suits just yet! Whether you’re exercising or just having fun, water activities are available and beneficial all year round.
Local recreation centers and other community facilities often have indoor pools that are open in every season. In addition to formal, group exercise classes like water aerobics, water Zumba and hydrospinning, one-on-one training sessions, and free swim are available everywhere. Whether swimming laps on your own or splashing around with the kids on the weekend, an indoor pool is a great, low impact, high resistance activity to keep you and your family active and fit any time of the year.
Just because it’s not summer anymore where you live, doesn’t mean it’s not summer somewhere! Winter break is a great time to take a family vacation or organize a class trip to somewhere warm. Whether you stay in the country or travel abroad, plan far in advance to secure reasonable rates, and enjoy the summer sunshine when you least expect it. This sudden burst of warm breeze, sunshine, and relaxation will remind you of the amazing summer you’re wrapping up now, and rejuvenate you until the next one.
Staycations and Spas
Can’t get away but still craving that mid-year taste of summer? Consider a staycation at a local hotel (with an indoor pool!) or even an afternoon with friends at a local spa. Keep your swimsuit handy for the pool, Jacuzzi, and saunas. A family staycation or even a few hours at a nearby spa is a low stress, relatively inexpensive way to take a break and get away without the logistics of a long, far away trip. Rates will be lower and availability higher in the off-season and the contrast of environment with the daily grind will feel amazing!
Water is refreshing and fun all year round. Whether at indoor pools in exercise classes or just hanging out, getting out of town, or on a short vacation locally, there are plenty of opportunities to get those suits wet between summers.
While HydroChic active wear is made for dry athletics, resort wear and for the gym, it is obviously also perfect for getting wet, summer or not. Have more ideas or how to enjoy swimwear year round? Let us know!
